David Compton was born in Atlanta, Georgia. He has a BA/MA summa cum laude in political science, an MBA in marketing, and was a Robert Jones Scholar at the University of St. Andrews (Scotland) in Economics and Politics. Before turning full time to writing, he was an executive with several Fortune 100 consumer goods companies in the food, beverage, and pharmaceutical industries, leading marketing, strategy, venture, and new product development departments.

In addition to being the New York Times best selling author of three novels, he has also made substantial contributions in journalism primarily in the areas of business, finance, medicine, and health care.

He is now a full time writer and editing consultant, and working on his next novel.
